Newport is long known as the first summer playground for the rich and famous, but Newport is also known for its great entertainment venues as well. Now that August has finally arrived, many of our guests at Pelham Court seem to be taking advantage of all the events that Newport has to offer. This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Newport Folk Festival which will be followed by the Newport Jazz Festival August 7th and 8th. The Folk Festival this year features many famous artists including The Decemberists and the Jazz Fest boasts and amazing line up as well with the one and only Tony Bennett.

In addition to the great music events that Newport has long been known for, the summer comedy and concert series at the Newport Yachting Center is underway with popular performances already including Huey Lewis and the News as well as comedian Joel McHale. A bonus is also that all of these great attractions are located within just a few steps of the Pelham Court Hotel!

Some other events coming to Newport that we are looking forward include the Hall of Fame Champions Cup from August 20-23, located conveniently within just a mile from our property and includes eight tennis greats playing in four days of great grass court tennis action.
